The Slack app lets you ask about them where you already work, saves the channels you choose, and lets your agents act on what happens there. The Messages tab assistant needs a paid Slack plan. ## Ask it anything in the Messages tab Open YouSpot in Slack and ask a question. It answers from your own material: the people you know, the mail you have sent, the notes you keep, and the Slack channels you chose to save. The answer streams into the conversation, takes a thumbs up or down, and says that it is written by AI and can be wrong. From then on its messages arrive in your Second Brain, searchable next to everything else you keep. Nothing is saved until you switch a channel on, and switching it off stops new messages at once. [Create a YouSpot account](https://youspot.com/sign-up) or [sign in](https://youspot.com/sign-in). Plans are on the [pricing page](https://youspot.com/pricing). 2. Open [Integrations, then Slack](https://youspot.com/user/integrations/slack), and click Add to Slack. 3. Choose your workspace and approve the install. You land back in YouSpot with the workspace connected. 4. In Slack, invite the app to a channel with `/invite @YouSpot`. The channel shows up in YouSpot within a minute, switched off. 5. Switch on the channels you want saved. Then message YouSpot from its Messages tab, or mention @YouSpot in a channel. [Add to Slack](https://youspot.com/user/integrations/slack) ## Before you install - ### The assistant needs a paid Slack plan The YouSpot assistant in Slack’s AI app container (the Messages tab and side panel) is only available on paid Slack plans. On a free Slack plan everything else still works: answers to @YouSpot mentions in channels, saving the channels you choose, link previews, and agent triggers. - ### AI can be wrong YouSpot uses AI to write its answers, summaries and notes, and they can be inaccurate or incomplete. Every answer in Slack says so. Check anything that matters before you act on it. - ### Your Slack data stays yours YouSpot reads only the channels you switch on and your own conversations with it. Saved messages are visible only to you, or to the members of a shared space you connected from. Slack data is never used to train AI models. Disconnecting deletes the stored tokens, and deleting your YouSpot account removes everything.
